Optimistic high school teacher Will Schuester tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing McKinley High’s Glee Club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential. Going up against McKinley’s cruel high school caste system and facing harsh criticism from everyone around him, Will is determined to prove them all wrong.

Jayma plays Emma Pillsbury, a guidance counselor at William McInley High School. To call Emma a clean freak would be putting it mildly. Despite her extreme mysophobia, she is a dedicated counselor and really cares about the kids she is trying to help. Emma’s other dilemma is that she is hopelessly in love with Will Schuester – feelings that he seems to reciprocate but neither of them act on these feelings as he is a married man.

This is my favorite Jayma role. She plays the part of Emma with absolute perfection. It’s an ensemble show but Jayma gets plenty of screentime and has even had the opportunity to show off her singing talents in the volume one episode “Mash-Up”.
